I have been eating at Homer's for a few years now. I am a BBQ fanatic and love smoking my own brisket, pulled pork, etc. In my backyard. I have been to some of the best and most famous BBQ joints in the country; Franklin's in Austin, Joe's in Kansas City, Central in Memphis, Little Miss in Phoenix, and Louie Mueller in Taylor, Texas and Homer's can hang with all of them. Their brisket is their crowning jewel and I would put it up against just about any I have had in Central Texas (I'm speaking the truth here). They were not selling any brisket today since brisket prices have gone crazy due to COVID-19 so I had their smoked turkey for the first time and it was amazing! You won't go wrong with their pork ribs or pulled pork either. Homer's knows how to get all that great smoky flavor in their meats and the bark on the brisket is some of the best I have found. This place is exactly why I search out family owned restaurants! All the 5 star reviews are for good reason. The owners are down home friendly! You can definitely tell they are passionate about their craft! We had a hard time narrowing down our choices; we ended up having the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. All delicious! We also had the smoked green beans (oh, yeah; they're as good as they sound) and cole slaw. Corn bread muffins are home made and delicious! Can't wait to go back and try the loaded duck fries!
